Woman shot, robbed of Tk one lakh

Marzina Begum, 35, wife of an expatriate living in Saudi Arabia Abdul Hossain, rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with a bullet received at her leg.

Police said three snatchers, riding a motorbike, intercepted her in front of Mirpur Fire Service Station when she was returning home along with her sister in a rickshaw after drawing Tk one lakh from the Mirpur branch of Islami Bank at around 10:30am.

As she protested, the muggers opened fire and left the scene hurriedly with the money, said Marzina.
