Workshop for mental health service providers ends

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (Dam) organised the workshop in cooperation with South Asia Regional Equity Programme (SARIQ) at the Dam auditorium.

Noted educationist and development activist Prof Nurul Islam presided over the concluding session of the workshop and distributed certificates among the participants.

SARIQ Project Manager Advocate Shirin Nahar, Dr MA Momin, Prof Dr Mahmudur Rahman spoke at the workshop.

A total of 20 mental health service supporting counsellors from eight organisations participated in the workshop. The organisations are Bangladesh National Women Lawyers' Association (BNWLA), Incidin Bangladesh, Ministry of Women Affairs, National Institute for Mental Health, Association for Community Development, Rajshahi, Mukti Nari O Shishu Unnayan Kendra, Kushtia, Dam's Shelter Home for Children and Women, Jessore and Ahsania Mission Drug Abuse Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre, Gazipur.

The training was conducted by using a manual developed through a research work by involving a number of concerned persons from Bangladesh and West Bengal of India.
