World Cup fever grips Khulna

Fans of Brazil are outnumbering the supporters of other countries in the hall where they reportedly removed German and Argentine flags on Monday evening.

Angry fans of Germany and Argentina strongly protested the removal of flags.

They demonstrated on the campus demanding punishment of those involved in the incident.

The provost of the hall was to sit with the students supporting the three teams last night to resolve the crisis.

Meanwhile, World Cup fever has gripped people of Khulna city as flags of Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France and Italy have been hoisted atop football clubs and houses of the fans supporting their teams.

Khulna citizens' committee has demanded uninterrupted supply of electricity as long as the world cup continues.

Sale of TV sets has also increased in the city.
