Youth Festival begins in Ctg today

British Council (BC) organised the festival aims at enhancing social tolerance among diverse section of people through creation of a platform for young people to share, learn and develop mutual understanding and respect among themselves.

Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury is scheduled to inaugurate the festival at the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB), Chittagong centre at 3:30pm.

On the eve of the festival the organisers at a press conference yesterday said the festival was designed to showcase various component projects involving hundreds of youths.

The project components included Adda (friendly gathering), dialogue, Youth Forum for Democracy, debate and forum theatre on the issue of identity and performance literature.

Local partners of the Project are Working for Better Life, Democracy Watch, Centre for Development Communication, Centre for Communication Development and Policy Studies (CCDPS), Centre for Communication and Development, Tarunya and Brine Pickles.

BC programme officer Shabnaaz Zahereen, Executive Director of CDC journalist Muhammad Jahangir, BC cultural and science Manager Syed Masud Hossain replied to queries of the journalists at the press conference.
