2 journalists hurt in attack by criminals

Police said, Patuakhali district correspondent of Dainik Sangbad, Nikhil Chaterjee and Kalapara upazila correspondent of Dainik Janata, Meghnad Chandra Saha came under attack while returning home from local press club at about 12 pm. When they reached in front of MB College, some unidentified youths numbering about 10 equipped with sticks and lethal weapons attacked them.

Local people admitted them to upazila health complex after their rescue.

Earlier, a news story on burning of wood in brick fields was published in Dainik Sangbad on January 30 this year. This might be the reason of attackers' wrath, victims said.
