Asaduzzaman's 11th death anniversary observed
The eleventh death anniversary of Liberation War organiser and former lawmaker Advocate Asaduzzaman was observed here befittingly yesterday.
Magura district units of Awami League, Jubo League, Chhattra League, Krishok League and Mahila Awami League chalked out various programmes to mark the day. The progrmmes included discussion meeting, mourning procession, milad mahfil, Quran Khwani and feeding of destitutes.
Awami League convener Altaf Hossain presided over the discussion while it was addressed, among others, by Shafiquzzaman Bachchu, Saifuzaman Shikhor, Tanzel Hossain, Golam Moula and Abdul Gafur.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Former president of the party's Magura district unit, Asaduzzaman was the secretary of Awami League Parliamentary Party in 1986. He was elected a member of parliament (MP) four times during his lifetime.
He died on December 25 in 1993.
