Ban politics based on religion

The three arrested persons are Md Aminul Islam from Bashudanga village in Naragatia thana in Narail; Salauddin Rana, a resident of Naragatia thana in Narail and Talha Ibne Jubair, of Khasial village in Kalia thana in Narail.

Samajtantrik Chhatra Front brought out a procession on the campus demanding a ban on religion-based politics.

The Bangladesh Chhatra Union, Jahangirnagar Theatre, Jahangirnagar Students Film Society, Dhwani, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Bangladesh Chhatra Federation in separate statements urged the students to unite to stop religion-based politics in the country.

They also demanded action against the 'extremists' arrested on Sunday.

Savar police on Tuesday sent the three arrestees to court, sources said.

Though the arrested persons named two JU students as their shelter provider on the campus, the university authorities and police could not gather any information about them till yesterday.
