Barisal DITE ransacked again by admission seekers

They brought out a procession and held a meeting on the campus demanding immediate approval and admission in the second shift. They announced a three-day programme of human chain today, road blockade tomorrow and hunger strike on December 16.

The meeting was presided over by Sayeed Hossain while it was addressed, among others, by Wahidur, Anuj, and Mizanur.

They ransacked class rooms, students' union office, locked the library, laid siege to teachers and staff, forced students to abandon classes and broke the boundary wall of the institute.

Hearing a news of postponement of admission procedure to open second shift in the institute, agitated admission seekers ransacked the DITE on December 9 for the first time.

The admission procedure started in September.

Eighty candidates were selected for admission, according to their SSC result.

After publication of the list of selected candidates on October 10, the higher authorities all on a sudden postponed the admission procedure on October 17.
