At least 30 persons were injured as ruling BNP activists attacked a procession of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) at Mominpur in Natore recently.

The processionists were demanding release of Puthia upazila unit president of the party, Principal Abul Kalam Azad.

Police arrested Principal Azad on July 16 after operatives of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) hurled bombs on BNP leader Rahim Newaz.
