BNP leader expelled

Mohammadpur thana BNP Organising Secretary Nazrul Islam has been punished for 'involvement in anti-organisational activities', according to party sources.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the district BNP on Tuesday.

Nazrul was arrested on charge of beating a 'Tahashildar' (tax collector) and illegally collecting sand from land on Monday.

The action followed a BNP factional clash on Saturday.
