Charge in the August 17 bomb blast case in Kishoreganj could not be framed yesterday as Jamaatul Mujadideen Bangladesh (JMB) chief Shaikh Abdur Rahman, its second in command Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai and cadre Obaidullah Sumon could not be produced before the court.

Earlier the charge framing was deferred twice as the three, accused in the case, could not be produced before the court.

The three were scheduled to be produced before the court of District and Session Judge Bhobani Proshad Singha. But police could not produce them.

The court fixed August 14 as the next date for charge framing.

When contacted, Kishoreganj Police Superintendent Khondoker Golam Faruq said, it depends upon higher authorities where the top JMB cadres would be taken where.

JMB cadre Obaidullah Sumon was arrested in Gurui area of Nikle upazila in Kishoreganj district on September 14 last year with a huge quantity of explosives and detonators. He was arrested in connection with bomb blast at six points in the town on August 17 last year. As per his confessional statement, police later included names of Abdur Rahman and Bangla Bhai in the list of accused as masterminds behind the bomb blasts, police said.
