Charge sheet not given in 2 years

Economics teacher Prof Yunus was killed this day in 2004. He was also president of RU unit of Bangabandhu Parisad.
Submission of the charge sheet is awaiting approval of home ministry's Monitoring Cell, sources said.
To mark the day, RU Bangabandhu Parisad, Progressive Teacher's Society and Economics department have chalked up programmes but the university administration, like the previous year, is yet to plan any programme, sources said.
Prof Yunus was brutally killed by unidentified terrorists on December 24 in 2004 when he was on a morning walk at Binodpur near his university campus residence.
His brother Abdul Halim filed a case with Motiher police without mentioning name of any killer.
Police arrested eight persons including Islami Chhatra Shibir cadres Salekin, Jafar Babu, Mizanur, Jillur and Manirul for their alleged involvement in the killing.
The trial slowed down and took a new dimension when outlawed Jamaatul Mujadideen Bangladesh's top leaders Shaikh Abdur Rahman and Bangla Bhai confessed that JMB men assassinated Prof Yunus.
The arrested eight persons were released on bail, police said.
Later, as per directives of home ministry, seven JMB cadres including Boma Matin, Kashem, Golam Mostafa, Shafiulla and Ibrahim were named in the case, police sources said.
After two years of the killing, police and yet to submit the charge sheet only on political grounds, Yunus colleagues alleged while talking to this correspondent.
Several months back, investigation officers told newsmen that they submitted the charge sheet to home ministry's monitoring cell and were awaiting its green signal to place it before court.
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) official in Rajshahi Helal Udddin told newsmen that investigation of the case was completed earlier.
"We will submit it to court after getting directives from higher authorities", he said.
The only so of Prof. Yunus, now a teacher at Rajshahi University Dramatics and Music Department, expressed grave concern and anguish as killers of his father is yet to be tried.
RU Bangabandhu Parisad will place floral wreaths on the grave of Yunus, bring out a mourning procession on the campus and will hold a prayer for salvation of the departed soul.
Teachers and students of economics department and Progressive Teachers' Society (PTS) also will bring out a mourning processions on the campus. PTS will also hold a discussion meeting at the Senate building.
Besides, Bangladesh Chhatra League and Progressive Students' Alliance have also taken up programmes for punishment of killers.
