Clinic closed, five fined in Kushtia
With closure of one more, the number of private clinics and diagnostics centers shut in the district in last five months rose to 39, health department officials said.
According to sources in joint forces, an army medical team led by Lt. Col. Dr Aminul Islam, accompanied by a magistrate, visited different private hospitals and diagnostic centers in the district town and in Daularpur.
The team realised a fine of Tk 25,000 from three diagnostic centers and two hospitals for not following government rules. They asked the owners to fulfill conditions as per law within a month, the sources said.
The team closed Kutubuddin Memorial Hospital at Courtpara in Kushtia town for not following rules under Private Clinic, Laboratory and Private Practice Act 1982. The team also fined two hospitals Tk 5000 each for running those in improper conditions and facilities.
