Defeating poverty, she gets GPA 5

She got GPA-5 in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in Humanities group this year.
Not that she could devote all her time to studies. She had to take care of her ailing mother, three younger brothers and sisters and do all the household work. Her mother is bedridden with paralysis from for over three years.
Her determination and zeal for studies earned reputation also for Par Dakhalpur High School in a remote village in Harinakundo upazila in Jhenidah district.
"I even could not provide her with education materials, let alone a separate room for studies", her father Ohid Ali of Dakhalpur village told this correspondent. The family lives in a dilapidated hut.
Jasmine and her father are grateful to their neighbours and school teachers.
"It is because of inspiration by my teachers that helped me continue studies", Jasmin said. She wants to be an administrator, she said.
Headmaster Mizanur Rahman of Par Dakhalpur High School said we took special care as she was very brilliant. We knew she would do very well. Getting GPA-5 in Humanities group from a school in a remote village is really exceptional, he said.
