Divers fail to find body of KU student
Noor drowned in the river Rupsha near the Khanjahan Ali Bridge (Rupsha bridge) on Sunday night.
A helicopter of Bangladesh Biman that hovered over the Rupsha river for about an hour on Monday afternoon also failed to locate the body.
Noor, 22, was a student of the discipline of Architecture in Khulna University. He was swept away by cross current of the Rupsha river when he jumped into the river for swimming.
The KU student was among 15 others of the same department who went on a river cruise by an engine boat on Sunday evening to observe the 'Friendship Day'.
The victim was son of Md Abdus Salam of Bhiralla village udner Debidwar upazila in Comilla district.
Nine final year students of KU Architecture Department and two students of BUET in Dhaka drowned at the Katka near the Sundarbans on March 13 in 2004 during a picnic trip.
