Dog saves baby from jackal
A street dog saved a baby boy from a jackal's clutches at Lahuria village in Lohagara upazila in Narail district in the early hours of yesterday.
The injured boy was admitted to a clinic in Magura town.
A jackal sneaked into the house of farmer Tahajjat Ali at around 3:15 am and dragged his two and half-year-old sleeping son Sajib to a fallow land behind the house.
Hearing the baby's cry, a stray dog rushed there and attacked the jackal. The jackal fled the scene leaving the boy injured.
Hearing the dog's barking, Tahajjat woke up and found his son not on the bed. He and his wife came out and to their disbelieve saw the dog guarding their injured child.
