Dowry-greedy madrassah super sent to jail
Three persons including a madrassah superintendent were sent to jail hajat on Tuesday on charge of demanding dowry.
The persons are: Safiul Alam Awal, Superintendent of Godara Madrassah and his two younger brothers Billal Hossain and Iqbal Hossain.
Court sources said, Safiul Alam Awal son of Abdul Jalil of Godera in Assasuni upazila married to Mohsina Bilkis, daughter of Abdul Aziz of Ujirpur village in Kaliganj upazila 18 years back after taking dowry amounting to over Tk 4 lakh. He demanded more dowry from his wife. On refusal, he along with two brothers drove away Mohsina and her two children from his house.
