Four Jamaat men sued for supplying 'forged' textbooks

A case was filed with a magistrate court here yesterday accusing four Jamaat-e-Islami men for 'cheating' students by selling forged madrasha textbooks.

A teacher of a Dakhil Madrasha in Bhomra filed the case with the court of Magistrate Abu Jafar. The court ordered the accused to appear before the court within 15 days.

The accused are Satkhira Sadar upazila Jamaat Ameer and Kushkhali Union Parishad chairman Abdul Gaffar and party leaders Altaf Hossain, Jamal Uddin and Kamal Uddin. Abdul Gaffar who is son-in-law of former Jamaat lawmaker Abdul Khaleque.

All the accused are leaders of Satkhira unit of Madrahsa Shikkhak Parishad, aligned with Jamaat.

According to the complaintant, the accused changed the cover and inside pages containing the names of writers and publishers of several books including Adhunik Bangla Grammar and Essay and My First Communicative English Grammer of class six.

On contacted, Abdul Gaffar refuted the allegations and said it is a conspiracy against the Madrahsa Shikkhak Parishad.
