'Killer' quack remanded
Quack Abdus Sadek, arrested on Saturday for killing at least 10 babies during birth in his clinic at Bhairab, was placed on a five-day fresh remand yesterday.
Quack Abdus Sadek ran a so-called clinic named Sadek Medical at Bhairobpur in Bhairab, where there was no trained doctor or nurse.
Meanwhile, one Beauty Akter, wife of Parash Mony of south Bhairobpur village in Bhairab upazila, filed a case with Bhairab police station against Sadek, alleging that her baby was killed during birth at his clinic on October 6 last year.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Sadek was arrested from a hotel in Kishoreganj town by a Rab (Rapid Action Battalion) team led by Capt Mesbahul Alam Selim.
During interrogation by Rab, the quack admitted that he killed over ten babies during birth in last seven years.
