Main accused in Randhuni Bari police outpost looting case held
Belkuchi police yesterday arrested a leader of outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party and the main accused in the case for killing four policemen and looting arms from Randhuni Bari police outpost in 2002.
The arrestee is Abdur Razzak of Mokimpur village in Belkuchi upazila.
Acting on a tip off, Belkuchi police with the assistance of Kamarkhanda police raided Kazipura village in Kamarkhanda upazila and arrested Razzak.
During interrogation he confessed to involvement in looting the Randhunibari police outpost and killing policemen earlier.
A gang of outlaws led by Razzak looted nine forearms and 147 bullets from the police outpost on September 16, 2002.
Police said Razzak gave important clues to attack on some other police outposts in the region but they declined to give details.
