One killed in stampede

Eshak Ali, 55, came to Khashrazbari Union Parishad ground from Biswarigachha village with his VGD card for rice. At least 1500 others also gathered there.

Eshak fell on the ground in a melee and was trampled, police and locals said. Ill-fated Eshak lost his homestead due to erosion by the Jamuna a year ago, locals said.
