One lynched, body recovered from brick kiln in Meherpur

In Meherpur, one person was lynched at Changara village in Gangni upazila Wednesday night, suspecting him to be a cattle lifter.

Police said local people caught Golam Hossain when he was allegedly trying to lift a cow. Police recovered the body next morning.

In another incident, Meherpur Sadar police recovered the burnt body of alleged outlaw Panna Mia from a brick kiln Thursday morning.

Police suspect that Panna was thrown into brick kiln by his rivals over a feud.

In Kushtia, armed pirates killed a cattle trader Abu Taleb on a trawler and looted Tk two lakh from him on the Padma river at Porardiar Wednesday night.

The gang allegedly led by a hardened criminal in the area-- Panna --swooped on the traders' boat when they were returning Daulatpur from Pabna after selling their cattle.
