Police 'raid' Barisal Khelafat Majlis office

Police also searched adjacent rooms in the building but could neither recover any objectionable material not arrested any body from the complex, police sources said yesterday.

Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali thana, said the raid was done after a tip-off that 'suspicious activities took place there'.

But Prof A K M Shahjahan, Barisal City Amir of Khelafat Majlish and leader of the Islami Oikka Jote, a component of the ruling alliance, denied police raid on the office.

He claimed that police raided the adjacent office belonging to BNP leader Babul Chowdhury.

Babul Chowdhury was not available for comment.
