Prime accused in Pangsa cop murder held
Jhenidah police have arrested the prime accused in the murder of Sun-inspector Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Pangsha thana in Rajbari district.
Being tipped-off, a team from Sailkupa police station in Jhenidah raided the house of one Bharu Mondol at Majdia in Sailkupa upazila Sunday night and arrested Badsha Alam alias Dulal.
Dulal hails from Bagdul village in Pangsha.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Mizanur Rahman was killed in a gunfight with a gang on March 23, 2004 when a police team led by him raided a Patta village to arrest some criminals.
Rajbari police said Dulal is also accused in different cases including five for murder filed with different police stations in Rajbari and Kushtia.
