Rally in Dimla to protest 'extortion' by PDB men

Sources claimed that on Tuesday, six PDB employees came to Dimla from Domar. They claimed themselves as members of a mobile team of PDB and threatened some power consumers to disconnect their electricity lines unless they are paid.

One of them claimed himself to be a Magistrate and the others identified themselves as high officials of PDB.

Locals became suspicious. They detained and physically assaulted them. They are undergoing treatment at Dimla Upazila Health Complex.

After the incident, Rafiqul Islam, General Secretary of Dimla Merchants Association, complained to the Uapazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) against the PDB men and went to Dimla thana to file a case but the duty officer recorded it as General Diary (GD).

The Resident Engineer of Domar PDB filed a case with Dimla thana Tuesday night alleging that the PDB men were assaulting by some people when they went there for official work.
