Son abducted as father refuses to pay toll
Miscreants abducted a person from Durlovepur village of Gangni upazila in Meherpur district yesterday following his father's refusal to pay them toll of Tk 1.00 lakh.
Police said a gang of criminals several months ago demanded Tk. 1 lakh toll from Sirazul Islam, father of the abducted person and leader of local Awami League (AL).
Sirajul declined to meet their demand and the gang threatened him with a dire consequence.
