Teachers honoured for dedication

District Education office organised the programme marking the National Teachers Day 2005.

Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Shah Alam Bakshi attended the function as chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner Abu Md Yusuf was in the chair.

It was also addressed by, among others, Md Lutfur Rahman Khan, principal of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman college; District Education Officer Siddiqua Morshed; Shirin Banu, Headmistress of Zila School; Touhid Ara, Headmistress of Biddyamoyee Government Girls School; Rupendra Narayan Chakrabarti, Khondaker Sultan Ahmed and Ananda Mohan College teacher Afzalur Rahman.

The teachers who were honoured for their glorious role in teaching are Prof Meher-un-Nisa, ex-principal of Teachers Training College (TTC, Female); Prof Zatindra Chandra Devnath, ex-principal of Gafargoan Government College; Prof Shamsul Islam and Md Abdur Rashid Miah, former principals of Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam College and Trishal Nazrul college respectively; Md Rukon Uddin and Md Abdus Sattar, former principals of Momenshahi DS Alia Madrassah and Churkhai Islamia Senior Madrassah; Abdul Gaffar Mondol and Md Momtaj uddin, ex-headmasters of Zila School and Kumar Upendra Biddhapith; Sultana Begum, Raushan Ara Begum, Md Abdul Bari and AKM Mofizur Rahman.

The teachers were awarded crests.
