Three Indians jailed for illegal entry
They are Depok Das and Sanjib Das, sons of Haralal Das and Manik Banik, son of Ratan Banik, all from Dalbari village under Sabrum thana in South Tripua.
First Class Magistrate Ahmad Kabir handed down the punishment. The punishment will be adjusted with their four year's confinement without trial, the verdict said.
Talking to this correspondent on the court compound, they urged the Indian High Commission to take steps for their return home.
Court sources said, the three Indians were arrested by BDR on April 18, 2004 when they entered Bangladesh through Ramgour border with four sacks of sugar and one bicycle. Since then, they were in Khagrachhari jail.
The sources said there is bleak possibility of their release soon as they face another case with Chittagong District and Sessions Judge's court for carrying contrabands.
