UPDF accused of kidnapping 4 PCP men

The abducted persons are Michael Chakma, 18, Sawpan Chakma, 18, Prasanta Bikash Chakma, 19, and Yous Bikash Chakma, 19.

PCP president Popen Tripura said the UPDF activists abducted four active members of his organisation in retaliation for a clash at Khagrachhari Government College on Sunday. He said the UPDF men raided different areas in Sadar upazila from Sunday midnight till yesterday morning before abducting them. Previously the UPDF men used to threaten PCP activists to establish supremacy on the college campus. He urged the administration to arrest the culprits.

However, the UPDF coordinator Samari Chakma refuted the allegations saying his men were not involved in the abduction. PCP is playing a dirty game alleging abduction, he said.

On Sunday, a freshers' reception was foiled at Khagrachhari Government College due to clash of two student wings of UPDF and PCJSS.
