All 15 launch fire victims transferred to Dhaka are critical: doctors
None of the 15 victims of MV Abhijan-10 fire, who were sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment, is out of danger, doctors have said.
"I would say everyone is critical. I will not call anyone safe," said Dr Samanta Lal Sen, chief coordinator of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. "The incident took place around 3pm and starting treatment took some more time. It is important that victim gets enough fluid immediately. Subsequent treatment depends on these issues," he explained.
"Our seven-member team has gone to Barishal, they have seen patients till 1:30 last night and are treating them since this morning." the doctor said, adding that the other critical patients will be sent to Dhaka if needed while the rest will be treated in Barishal.
"I have repeatedly said that nobody can prevent such accidents unless there is awareness and monitoring," Dr Samanta Lal Sen added.
