Dhamrai fire: Man dies of burn injuries after wife and daughter

After the deaths of his wife, daughter and niece, garment worker Manjurul Islam passed away today, five days after a fire broke out at their house in Dhamrai.

The 35-year-old man breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said its resident surgeon, SM Ayub Hossain.

With him, four out of five members of the family have died so far in the fire that broke out on January 6.

Manjurul's daughter, one-and-half-year-old Mariyam Akter, died on January 7 while his wife Josna Begum and niece Sadia Akter passed away yesterday.

Josna's sister Hosna Akter is receiving treatment at the burn institute with 25 percent burn on her body.
