Rail links of Mymensingh with Netrakona, Kishoreganj restored after 3 hrs

Rail communications of Mymensingh with Netrakona and Kishoreganj was restored after three hours of suspension following the derailment of a commuter train on the route this afternoon (September 17, 2022).

The rail communications were restored around 5:30pm after the rescue operation was over, our Mymensingh correspondent reports quoting Nazmul Haque, deputy assistant engineer of Mymensingh Railway Station.

A compartment of Dhaka-bound Balaka commuter train from Netrakona veered off the tracks in Bolashpur area near Mymensingh Railway Station around 2:30pm, which halted rail communications of Mymensingh with Netrokona and Kishoreganj, said the engineer.

On information, a relief train reached the spot and started salvage operations, he added.
