Urea production at JFCL halts

Urea production at Jamuna Fertilizer Company Ltd (JFCL) at Tarakandi in Jamalpur district today halted due to a technical issue.

The production at JFCL stopped because of technical glitches of pump of ammonia gas plant of the factory, Saidur Rahman, general manager (operation ) of JFCL.

The repairing work is going on, but it may need one or two days to get the pump of the plant repaired, he said.

JFCL, the largest urea production company in the country, is able to produce 1700mt of the fertilizer per day, he added.
