A student of class four was found dead in Chattogram city's Pahartali area this morning, seven days after she went missing.

Police Bureau of Investigation's (PBI's) metro unit recovered the body of Abeda Sultana Aynin, 11, from Pahartali Alamtara Murgir Farm area, reports out Chattogram staff correspondent.

Naima Sultana, superintendent of PBI, said details would be disclosed at a press briefing later.

After Abeda went missing on Tuesday, her mother lodged a complaint with Chattogram Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal-2, accusing one Md Rubel.

Taking the complaint into cognisance, the court ordered the officer-in-charge of Pahartali Police Station to treat the complaint as a first information report (FIR) and investigate the incident.

Accused Rubel is a vegetable vendor, said the complaint.

Bangladesh Human Rights Foundation (BHRF) is providing legal support to the victim's mother.

BRHF's Secretary General Zia Ahsan Habib said the accused abducted Abeda on March 21 evening with promises of chocolate.

"Following our complaint, the court recorded the plaintiff's deposition and asked the OC to receive the FIR."
