Model Piyasha acquitted of case filed under Narcotics Control Act
A Dhaka court today acquitted model and former TV presenter Faria Mahbub Piyasha of a case filed against her under the Narcotics Control Act.
Judge Syed Tarek Ezaz of the fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court pronounced the acquittal order.

Earlier the prosecution and the defence completed their arguments, and the court recorded statements of 26 prosecution witnesses, including the complainant of the case.
On January 11, 2023, the same court framed charges against her in the case.
On September 28, 2021, Criminal Investigation Department Inspector Md Abdul Latif, also investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka.
Detectives arrested Piyasha from her Baridhara residence on August 1, 2021. They seized 780 yaba tablets, eight bottles of foreign alcohol and four cans of beer from her residence.
