Six more July uprising victims sent to Bangkok for treatment
Six more people injured in the July uprising have been sent to Bangkok for advanced medical treatment this morning.
They will receive care at Vejthani Hospital under the supervision of the Bangladesh health ministry.
The injured were flown to Bangkok on a Biman flight, said Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, senior information officer of the health ministry.
The six individuals are Dulal Hossain, Mostafa Kamal Noor, Shahidul Islam, Hedayetullah, and Mohammad Raihan—who had been receiving treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR)—and Mohammad Raihanul, who was undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Earlier, on Sunday at 11:20am, Dipankar Bala, another injured protester, was sent to Bangkok on a regular Biman flight.
On January 29, three injured individuals were sent to Bangkok from Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, while another three were sent from Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Previously, the government had sent 22 injured individuals abroad at different times.
So far, a total of 38 individuals injured in the July uprising have been sent abroad for advanced treatment.
