Two killed as bus hits bike

Two people were killed and another was injured after a bus hit their motorcycle from behind in Auliapur of Patuakhali Sadar upazila yesterday.

Anwar Molla, 45, a pillion rider, died on the spot while motorcyclist Md Shamim, 35, succumbed to his injuries on the way to Barishal, said police.

Another pillion rider, Hridoy, was rushed to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal.

Police and witnesses said three were heading from Golachipa towards Patuakhali when the Meghna Paribahan bus from Kuakata hit them.

Patuakhali Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Imtiaz Ahmed said the bus driver and his assistant managed to flee.
