Korvi Rakshand represents Bangladesh at UNESCO Award’s 20th anniversary

Korvi Rakshand, Founder and Executive Director of the JAAGO Foundation, represented Bangladesh at the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain at the University of Bahrain.

The event was attended by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, and ministers and laureates from across the globe. The gathering marked two decades of global innovation and collaboration in transforming education through information and communication technologies (ICT), according to a press release.

Among the global laureates, Korvi Rakshand was the only representative from Bangladesh to have received this international recognition. In 2016, the JAAGO Foundation was awarded the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education for providing education to underprivileged children through digital platforms, adds the press release. The award was presented to Korvi Rakshand by then UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
