Bangladeshi expat conferred “Dato Sri” title in Malaysia

Jalal Uddin Selim, an expatriate Bangladeshi, has been conferred the "Dato Sri" title in Malaysia.
A royal family of Malaysia's Malacca state awarded "Dato Sri", the highest state title, to Jalal Uddin Selim in recognition of his contribution to the field of business, NGOs and social work.
Jalal Uddin Selim received the award from YAM Datu Abdul Latif Bin Hashim, a representative of the royal family, on October 1, 2022.
Jalal, son of Mohammad Abdul Awal of Velanagar village in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla, went to Malaysia in 1995 to study.
After completing his studies at University of Science, Malaysia (USM), he decided to settle there and focus on business.
Over the years, he has made a place for himself as a top businessman in Malaysia.
