A road accident in Oman claimed the lives of two Bangladeshi brothers early Tuesday.

The accident occurred in Sinaw city -- 200 km from the capital Muscat. Two other Bangladeshi teenagers were seriously injured in the accident. One of them is in critical condition.

The deceased were identified as Jara (14) and Adib (12). Their family home is in Bangladesh's Mymensingh district. Their mother, Dr Tania, works at Sinaw Hospital.

Jihad (14), son of Sheikh Jasim, an expatriate Bangladeshi businessman, went out with his father's car around 3am, according to the Bangladesh embassy and community organisers. Jihad picked up Jara and Adib, and Atiq -- son of expatriate Bangladeshi businessman Md Karim -- from their homes at the time.

As the roads were vacant, Jihad drove at a high speed. He later lost control of the wheels and crashed on Adam Road, leaving Jara and Adib dead on the spot.

Jihad was taken to Muscat's Khoula Hospital last afternoon in critical condition. Atiq was admitted to a local hospital in Sinaw. The bodies of the two brothers were kept in a local morgue.

They are all students of Bangladesh School in Sinaw. None of the four had valid driver's license.
