2 held among 8 war crimes suspects after arrest order issued

Law enforcers pick up two war crimes suspects in Jamalpur three hours after the International Crimes Tribunal-2 this afternoon issued arrest warrants against eight.

Law enforcers picked up two war crimes suspects in Jamalpur three hours after the International Crimes Tribunal-2 this afternoon issued arrest warrants against eight.

The detained are – Adv Shamsul Haque, 75, and AKM Yusuf Ali, 83.

The warrants were issued around 2:10pm following a petition by the prosecution.  

The other accused are: Ashraf Hossain, 64, Prof Sharif Ahammed, 71, Abdul Mannan, 66, Abdul Bari, 62, Harun, 58, and Abul Hashem, 65.

An investigation into the allegations of committing atrocities during the 1971 Liberation War against them began on June 6, 2013.
