3 to die for killing primary school teacher in Pirojpur

A court in Pirojpur today sentenced three men to death for killing a primary school teacher in 2017.
Pirojpur District Sessions Judge's Court Judge Md Mohiduzzaman delivered the verdict in presence of two convicts.
Another convict remains fugitive, our Pirojpur correspondent reports.
The court also fined the three convicts Tk one lakh each.
The three are: Dipankar Roy, 34, Khokon Sheikh, 28, and Nur Islam alias Nuru Sheikh, 34, of Paschim Baniary village under Nazirpur upazila.
The court also sentenced the three to 10 years' imprisonment and further fined them Tk 5,000 each for stabbing the wife of slain Shamiron Majumder, an assistant teacher of Paschim Baniary Government Primary School in Nazirpurupazila.
According to the case statement, the three men entered Shamiron's house and hacked him indiscriminately, also injuring his wife in the early morning of March 23, 2017.
Later, relatives took them to Khulna Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Shamiron dead.
Shamiron's wife Swapna filed a murder case with Nazirpur Police Station the following day accusing some unidentified men.
After investigation in December 2017, police in the charge sheet said Shamiron's neighbour Dipankar with the help of other accused murdered him over a land dispute.
