Evaly provides PPEs to Nat’l Emergency Services Centre
Evaly, an e-commerce based online marketplace, has provided health care and safety equipment to the authorities of National Emergency Services Centre (999).
The items were provided to ensure protection of the staff on duty at the service centre, run by Bangladesh Police, amid the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
Evaly Director Atiqur Rahman handed over 490 packets of the safety equipment to Additional DIG Tabarak Ullah of 999 at its head office in Dhaka on May 21, according to a press release of the company issued today.
Each packet includes a personal protective equipment (PPE), hand sanitiser, eye protective glass and three surgical face masks. Three thermometers were also provided for the 999 office.
"999 has been providing emergency services to the countrymen round the clock since its inception, coming for help to many people in critical situations. Amid the ongoing Covid-19 situation, the members here are still working and delivered emergency services to the people during the cyclone Amphan. On behalf of Evaly we are providing some personal health protection materials for the members in a small attempt to show our respect and gratitude for their relentless commitment," Atiqur Rahman said.
"Even amid the Covid-19 situation, 999 emergency services centre's staff have continued to work. Some members of our department have been affected by coronavirus already. In the beginning we received a few tools from the public and private entities. I truly thank Evaly personallly, on behalf of 999, and above all on behalf of Bangladesh Police, for extending their hands to support us. I hope this initiative will contribute to the welfare of the people as well as the country," said Additional DIG Tabarak Ullah.
Chairman of Bahan Express Kazi Nasim Uddin and senior officials of 999 emergency services centre were present during the occasion.
