During the 10-day general holiday -- from March 26 to April 4 -- buses, mini-buses, CNG-run autorickshaws and human hauliers will be off the roads, the Road, Transport and Bridges Ministry said in a press release today.

Trucks, covered vans and vehicles carrying medicine, fuel and perishable items will be exempt.

Rickshaws, which are non-motorised, also do not fall under this directive.

Asked about ride-sharing services, Lokman Hossain Mollah, director of BRTA, told The Daily Star that those too will remain suspended during the period and this will be communicated to the respective companies.
