Trucks, covered vans and vehicles carrying medicine, fuel and perishable items will be exempt.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Rickshaws, which are non-motorised, also do not fall under this directive.
Asked about ride-sharing services, Lokman Hossain Mollah, director of BRTA, told The Daily Star that those too will remain suspended during the period and this will be communicated to the respective companies.
