IUB launches campaign to build awareness on dengue prevention

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has launched a campaign to build awareness among people on preventing dengue fever, a mosquito-borne disease.

As part of the campaign, the university organised a rally in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area on August 4 to make people alert and create awareness among them on preventing dengue.

Later, pesticide was sprayed in different parts of area using fogging machines to kill or knock down any adult Aedes mosquito that might be carrying the virus responsible for dengue fever.  

Acting Vice Chancellor of IUB Prof Milan Pagon led the campaign against dengue while the treasurer, registrar, deans, members from the faculties and the administration, and large number of students took part in this initiative.

The initiative was much appreciated by the residents of the area.
