The court also fined her Tk 30,000 and ordered her to serve five more months in prison in default.

Md Rostom Ali, judge of women and children repression court in Joypurhat, passed the order today.

In 2014, Nanda Rani Mali, a resident of Biyala village under Kalai upazila in Joypurhat, filed a rape case against local man Abul Hayat with Kalai Police Station, said court sources.

Police in their investigation found that the allegation brought against Hayat was untrue and submitted their investigation report to the court.

Later, the plaintiff filed a no confidence application against the police report while the court took her application into cognizance.

Today, the plaintiff confessed to the court that she had filed a false rape case against the accused.

The plaintiff was sent to jail while the court acquitted the accused from the case.
