A man died in a fire at home in Feni early today.
The deceased was identified as Md Sohag (28), a resident of Dhalia union of Feni Sadar upazila.
Sohag was alone at home when the fire broke out around 2:00am, a correspondent from Feni reports, quoting Dhalia Union Parishad member Md Mostafa.
Two rooms of the house, owned by Nur Nabi who is a former member of Bangladesh Army, were gutted in the fire, Mostafa said. Nur Nabi allowed Sohag and his mother to stay, rent-free, in the two rooms.
Quoting locals, Dhalia UP Chairman Anwar Ahmmad said Sohag has been suffering from mental disorder. He also attacked his mother several days ago and she is now at hospital, he added.

They brought the fire under control soon but could not see anyone in the house, he said adding that later they returned to the office.
