VC, Pro VCs, Proctor kept confined for 12 hours

After a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League men kept Rajshahi University (RU) Vice-Chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan confined in his residence overnight, they are now holding a sit-in programme in front of the administrative buildings this morning in demand of jobs.

After a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League men kept Rajshahi University (RU) Vice-Chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan confined in his residence overnight, they are now holding a sit-in programme in front of the administrative buildings this morning in demand of jobs.

They padlocked the two buildings on university premises and were holding the programme till 12:30pm, at the time of filing this report. As a result, the administrative activities of the university remained suspended, reports our university correspondent.

The agitators left the VC residence around 9am today, about 12 hours after they blocked it with the VC, two pro vice-chancellors and the proctor inside around 9pm last night.

Proctor Prof Lutfor Rahman said that the administration called the agitators for dialogue in order to solve the issue.
