Star journo receives PhD degree

The Daily Star journalist Arun Bikash Dey has been awarded with the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by Chittagong University. 

The 523rd extraordinary syndicate of the university on March 10, 2020 conferred Arun by the degree for his dissertation titled "Morality in Journalism with special reference to Bangladesh".

Prof Dr M Shafiqul Alam of CU Philosophy Department supervised the dissertation.   

Earlier, Arun was awarded with an MPhil degree by the same university in 2008. He has also written a book titled "Ganit Banam Juktibidya (Mathematics vs Logic)" in 2010.

Arun started his career as a lecturer in a college in Chattogram and later chose journalism as profession. He has been working for The Daily Star, Chattogram Bureau since 2010.
