The health ministry today advised everyone to stay in isolation in their own homes during the general holiday declared by the government as part of its efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In a notice, the health ministry said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday gave general holiday with a 10-point recommendation to prevent the spread of the virus.

But many people are either going to their villages or taking part in different festivals, negating the purpose of the holiday, the notice said.

Therefore, it is being informed through the notice that people will have to stay isolated indoors instead of going places.

The government yesterday announced a 10-day holiday from March 26 to April 4 to tackle the spread of the virus.
